I minored in music while attending UC Berkeley, and in the Spring of 2022 I made a guitar amplifier in an instrument design class using my new knowledge of circuits. I built everything by hand, sourcing the parts myself and using the makerspace in Jacobs Hall. The amplifier produces noise-free clean and overdriven guitar tones with an LM386 op-amp. There is also an internal Piezo microphone for producing a feedback loop. Below is a demo video of how the amplifier works, and the sounds that it can produce.
